Trooper Harris was shot and killed while attempting to make an arrest in Larue County, Kentucky. The suspect was later shot and killed by other officers.

Trooper Harris had been with the agency for 7.5 years. He was survived by his wife and three children.

Sir I remember that day and after seeing your kids so upset it made me so sad. I was one of the "blonde" kids in the neighborhood. After you death I made my mom move to where my dad was stationed because I didn't want to be upset anymore. I was 6 years old at the time. Now that I am a lot older I want to thank you for your ultimate sacrifice. I am honored to be a fellow "brother in blue". God bless to you and your family.
