Officer Harmon was shot and killed while investigating a break-in at 0145 hours. Two suspects were apprehended and sentenced to life for his murder.
The two suspects were escapees who were burglarizing the service station. The suspects attacked him and struck him in the head. They then obtained control of his service weapon and shot him several times.
Officer Harmon had served with the agency for 7 years. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.
