Ronald W. Feldner

Officer Ronald Feldner was shot and killed while investigating a stolen car at a high school.

As he approached the vehicle one of the juvenile occupants shot him.

The suspect was apprehended and sentenced to 25 years to life.

Officer Feldner served as the agency's DARE officer. He was survived by his wife and four sons.

Wade will always be in my mind. I was a Criminal Investigator for the Valley County Sheriff's Office. Wade and I were in the same POST class. Our rooms at the Academy were beside each other. I always, jokingly said "he was too nice to be a cop. It seems that these things happen to the best of us, by the worst of us. Never to be forgotten.
