Sergeant Harold Hanning was killed in a plane crash in Wooster Township. He was assisting the roundup of cattle that had been set free in a traffic accident on Route 30 in Wayne County.

Sergeant Hanning was survived by his wife, two children, and parents.

Daddy...Being your oldest child I am blessed to have wonderful memories of you. I remember the hay forts you built for Blaine and me in the hayloft, I remember you riding "Big Buck"...I also remember you taking a 2x4 to the milk cow when she kicked over the bucket of milk (that was kindof scary!), you taking us up in the plane. I am blessed at the moment with a job where I get to fly quite often, I honestly believed that it was you that got me this job.
