Officer Chick died from injuries sustained when he was struck by a drunk driver while assisting a stranded motorist five days earlier.
The suspect, who had 22 prior arrests and 8 prior DUI convictions, was convicted of intoxicated manslaughter and sentenced to life in prison as a result of Officer Chick's death.
Officer Chick had served with the agency for 10 years. He is survived by his wife, daughter, son, parents and brother.
