Fred C. Griffin

Officer Fred Griffin was shot and mortally wounded while attempting to arrest a hobo from a railroad box car after learning the man was wanted for the theft at a local residence.

Officer Griffin died from his wounds two weeks later at a hospital in Chippewa Falls. The suspect was never identified or arrested.
