Inspector Gregory was accidentally shot and killed in Missouri when his service revolver fell from its holster and discharged. Inspector Gregory was visiting a fellow agent who was in the hospital as a result of gunshot wounds received when he was ambushed by suspects.
Inspector Gregory had been in law enforcement for 23 years.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 88th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
