Edward Harry Green

Patrolman Green was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a man who had returned to North Platte after being ordered by a judge to leave town. As the officers searched a hotel on West 7th Street the suspect opened fire on them, striking Patrolman Green with a shotgun blast. The suspect then committed suicide after being cornered.

Patrolman Green had served with the agency for 5 years. He was survived by his wife and daughter.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 84th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
