Officer Robert Granger was fatally wounded as he attempted to stop a robbery in progress.
Officer Granger was notified by a citizen that an armed robbery was taking place. Officer Granger rushed to the scene and found agunman robbing the participants of a card game. When Officer Granger ordered the offender to drop his weapon, the gunman opened fire, killing him.
