Herman DeWayne Justus

Chief of Police Herman Justus was killed in an automobile accident while involved in a pursuit. He was pursuing a vehicle when his patrol car skidded a patch of wet pavement as he rounded a curve on Cooper Avenue, and struck a brick wall.

He was a U.S Navy veteran of the Vietnam war and served with the West Taylor Township Police Department for seven years. He was survived by his wife.
