Patrolman Spiro Galanoudis was struck and killed by the driver of a stolen vehicle while directing traffic at a high school football game.

The juvenile suspect was convicted of manslaughter in connection with the incident.

Patrolman Galanoudis had served with the Monessen Police Department for 1 year. He is survived by his wife.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
