Trooper George Fredrickson was electrocuted when he came in contact with a live power line.

Trooper Fredrickson and his partner responded to a motorcycle accident while working a detail in Marquette Park area of Chicago. Due to the darkness, Trooper Fredrickson could not see the low-hanging powerline and walked directly into the line. He was killed instantly.

Trooper Fredrickson was a three year veteran of the Illinois State Police; He is survived by his wife and two children.
