Patrolman Edward F. Finnegan was shot and killed while transporting a prisoner.

Officer Finnegan arrested a motorist for speeding. While transporting the violator in the beack seat of his squad car to the district station, the assailant suddenly pulled out a revolver and shot the officer. Officer Finnegan was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later.
