I want to write a note as if you were to read it. After all these years. I thought early this morning that I would do some sort of good thing, for someone today, in your honor. There will always be some tears, of course, but also, I enjoy remembering you. It always starts with where you sat at the kitchen table in Butte. And then your generosity, your amazing intellect, your first car, how you had an uphill climb because in those days it was hard for Indians, etc... It is easy for me to overlook anything that wasn't perfect, as siblings should. And how I knew you would protect me against bullies. You seem so close. You would be, or must be, so proud of your daughter; she is one of the best people I know.
And now, Lenny is with you, too. At least I think that is how it works. I hope so! Prayers today for you, and for Leonard. I really, really miss him a lot. Especially on Sunday mornings when we would talk on the phone to catch up.
