Patrolman Farmer was stabbed while attempted to apprehend a prostitute on East Broad Street. He and another officer were on patrol when they observed the prostitute and a male enter an alley. When the officers surprised the two the man fled on foot and prostitue produced a knife and stabbed Patrolman Farmer.
Patrolman Farmer had been with the agency for six years.

On the 68th anniversary of Patrolman Farmer's death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Patrolman Farmer is not forgotten.
