Deputy Falkenburg and Deputy Bill Miller were shot and killed while attempting to arrest members of an Indian tribe wanted for slaughtering livestock belonging to local ranchers. During the shootout Deputy Falkenburg and Deputy Miller received fatal injuries and five of the Indians were also shot and killed. No suspects were ever charged as none of the Indians could be identified.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
