Patrolman Arthur F. Esau responded to a robbery inside a drug store. As Officer Esau entered the store, he was quickly confronted by armed robbers. Officer Esau was fatally struck in the exchange of gunfire.

The two killers were the first two executed in Illinois' new electric chair on February 19, 1929.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
