Clarence J. Erickson

Patrolman Erickson was shot and killed when he stopped a suspect at a road block who had just shot Patrolman Lee Murphy of the St. Croix County Highway Patrol. The suspect shot Patrolman Erickson through his neck as he fled from his car. Other patrolman returned fire striking the suspect five times killing him.

Patrolman Murphy succumbed to his wounds two years later.

Patrolman Erickson was survived by his expectant wife.
