Larry B. Enloe

Patrolman Larry Enloe was shot and killed after stopping a runaway juvenile on I-25 near Trinidad.

After shooting Patrolman Enloe the suspect carjacked another vehicle and forced the man to drive him to another location. The suspect was eventually apprehended and sentenced to 34-50 years in prison but escaped in 1974. In 1981 the suspect was killed in a motorcycle accident in Florida.

Patrolman Enloe had served with the Colorado State Patrol for over two years. He was survived by his wife, son and daughter. His son also served with the Colorado State Patrol.

50 years ago this year, Larry was killed in the line of duty serving the people of Colorado.

On June 1, 1993, Larry's son Don joined the Colorado State Patrol.

Now, twenty-five years later, Don is a Master Sergeant and still with CSP.

Congratulations Don! We are very proud of you! And your Dad would be too.
