John P. Ellis

Officer John Ellis was killed in a motorcycle crash while escorting the wedding party of a member of the DuPont family to the airport.

He was thrown into a mailbox when his motorcycle skidded on sand and struck a curb. He was taken to a local hospital where he died two hours later of internal injuries and a skull fracture.
