Officer Elliott was stabbed to death while patrolling Myer Street. Just after midnight he confronted a notorious criminal. The man pulled out a knife and stabbed Officer Elliott in the chest. He was able to fire at the supect and killed him. Officer Elliott succumbed to his wounds at the scene.

I have been trying for several years to find more information on Officer Elliott for his grandson, my brother-in-law Curly also went into law enforcement and is retired from LAPD.
I stumbled upon this page while doing research. I am happy to see him honored here. May God Bless all those that gave their lives in the line of duty.
