Grandpa,

Although I was only a child when you passed you still had a profound impact on my life. I heard many stories of your strength and bravery growing up as a child. I always wanted to live up your legacy. Although I never told anyone this is one of the reasons I became a federal agent. During my 25 plus years in law enforcement, you have never been far from my thoughts. I especially thought about you whenever conducting high risk search warrants, arrests, and under cover operations. Thank you for watching over me during my career keeping me safe. In the twighlight of my career I now know why you risked your life...it was your duty as a law enforcement officer.

I hope I made you proud.
