Special Agent Clifford Dietrich was killed in a helicopter accident while on a presidential protective assignment for President Richard Nixon.

The helicopter accident occurred near Grand Cay Island in the Bahamas.

Special Agent Dietrich had served in law enforcement for four years. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.

Hi Daryl. This is your older cousin Brian. I have memories of the day uncle Cliff died but was too young to understand the significance. We all were. Shannon, my sister and your other long lost cousin, found this site after hearing of Alexander Haig's death. Uncle cliff was the hero of the family and I remember visiting Grandpa in Florida and seeing Uncle Cliff's picture next to his bed. We lost touch after Cliff died, but if you would like to contact me, I am sure the admins here would give you my email. I am 42 now btw. Take care.
