Policeman William Davis was shot and killed as he and his partner questioned two suspicious men at 31st Street and Allegheny Avenue. One man pulled a gun and opened fire on the officers.

Policeman Davis had served with the agency for 12 years. He was survived by his wife and two children.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
