Officer Raymond Davis was killed while trying to arrest two robbery suspects for a crime he observed while off duty. As the suspects were exiting a bar, they shot Officer Davis once in the head with a .38 caliber revolver. He died later that evening.
Officer Davis had served with the Philadelphia Housing Authority Police Department for nine years. He was survived by his wife.
