William R. Davies

Chief Davies was killed in an automobile accident while responding to a call. He was in Harrisonburg meeting with the Commonwealth's Attorney when he was notified of an emergency in Grottoes, approximately 16 miles away.

As he responded along Route 256 he lost control in rainy weather and struck a guard rail on the driver's side door.

Chief Davies had served with the Grottoes Police Department for 13 years. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.

my oldest brother, in a lot of trouble in and out of prison. bill spent alot of time, giving my brother no break but he also let him to. he was a good man and cop. i went to school with belinda.was sad to hear of her passing. his daughter. my brother also died that year. he was out with friends. they were hit by a train on his side in doomes augusta county , maybe they are good friends now .
