Joseph John Daly

Patrolman Daly was killed in an automobile accident when the vehicle he was riding on struck a parked car. He and his partner had commandeered a car to take them to a call. Following the call, the driver of the vehicle was taking them back to their original location when the accident occurred. Patrolman Daly, who was riding on the running board, was thrown from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

Patrolman Daly was survived by his wife and four children.

Joseph John Daly was my great grandfather. My grandma was to be born 5 days after her dad died in the line of duty. It is surreal to finally see a picture of a relative that so many of our family talked about. (I agree, Toni, there is such a resemblance to uncle Joe, your grandpa!)
