Trooper Courtney was shot and killed after responding to a call of shots being fired at a farm. When he arrived he found a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy inside the farmhouse. As Trooper Courtney approached the house, the 14 year old suspect shot and killed him with a shotgun. The suspect then shot and wounded the farmhouse owner and escaped. Both suspects were later arrested, convicted and sentenced to prison. Both suspects were later paroled.

GONE AND NEVER FORGOTTEN

Trooper Courtney, you took an oath to protect and serve the citizens of Oregon and this great country. In the performance of duty, you made the ultimate sacrifice. There is no greater example of honor. May your loved ones, friends, co-workers find peace. May the citizens realize the sacrifice made by the law enforcement officers every second of every day. Rest in peace

Trooper Courtney, we have got it from here.
