Rich had a heart of gold. He loved working with kids and for his community. We attended the academy together, (class 225), and he was the designated driver - picking up 3 of us on his way into class every day from his ride in from Azusa. We endured field training together at Lynwood Station in 1986-87 (he was trained by the late, Bob "TinMan" Papini) and we worked 1-man sister cars in the City of Lynwood on the early morning shift. Always hard working and an excellent backup. We made a lot of good hooks brother! Rich eventually transferred out and up to one of the north stations, where he was ultimately murdered by a coward. Miss you, Brother.. Spoke about you (and others) in many a power point presentations as I trained new people throughout my career. Rest in Peace Bro!
