Deputy Richard Hammack was shot and killed while serving a high risk drug warrant. He was struck in the neck, face, and upper body by rifle fire as he ran to assist two other deputies who had been fired upon.

Rich, it is hard to believe it has been 20 years, it only seems like yesterday we were working gangs together. Shortly after 9 AM this morning my eyes teared up as I knew the time was nearing. We were friends and Radio Car partners, we worked hard together and played hard together, God Bless You and Rest in Peace my Brother, your legacy lives on proving that you will never be forgotten.
