Patrolman Daniel Conley was killed by a gunshot wound to the chest at Wylie Avenue. It is believed he was investigating the sound of broken glass when he was shot six times.

One suspect was convicted of murder and executed on March 30, 1925.

Patrolman Conley had served with the agency for 2.5 years. He was survived by his parents and six brothers.
