Patrolman Ernest Cole was struck and killed by a vehicle while attempting to direct traffic around a multiple car pileup. The incident occurred in dense fog on I-75 in Butler County.
Patrolman Cole was a military veteran and was stationed at the Dayton Post at the time of the incident. He was survived by his wife, child, and parents.
