Bartholomew James Coen

Patrolman Bartholomew Coen was killed when his car collided with a trolley near St. Agnes Hospital, where he was rushing an injured man to. After the collision, he insisted on taking the injured man into the hospital, where the officer died of his injuries.

Patrolman Coen was survived by his wife and three children.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 88th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
