Harry Lankford Charlton

Officer Harry Charlton succumbed to injuries received six months earlier while assisting another officer in making an arrest. The other officer was attempting to place a drunken woman he had arrested in a patrol wagon when the woman kicked Officer Charlton in the groin as he attempted to assist. A large bruise developed causing blood poisoning which resulted in his death. Officer Charlton was in a hospital four months.

Officer Charlton was survived by his wife, a son age 2, and a daughter also 2.
