W. M. Chansler

Officer Chansler was shot and killed after responding to a robbery call while off duty. When he arrived, he ordered the man to drop the gun. The man swung around and fired a rifle. Officer Chansler was struck three times. Officer Chansler was able to return fire and killed the suspect.

Officer Chansler was posthomously awarded the Certificate of Valor by the governor for his heroism.
