Officer Wilson Cartwright was beaten to death by an inmate at the Hardwick Correctional Institute.

Officer Cartwright had served with the agency for 12 years. He was survived by his wife and three sons.

My cherished son Larry Laslater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
