Patrolman Carter was killed when he was struck by one of two racing vehicles he was attempting to stop in Williamsburg County.
No telling how many lives were saved by Trooper Arnold Carter on that summer day in 1956. I was 6 years old. He is one of my heros and I salute him for his dedicated service to his state and country.
