Investigator Capizzi was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking on Ohio 56 in London, Ohio. He was in London attending a training class on child abuse when he was struck in front of the training building.

Investigator Capizzi had served with the agency for 2 years and had previously served with the Erie County Sheriff's Department for 11 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was survived by his wife, two sons, brother, and sister.
