Edward James Burch

Police Officer Edward Burch was struck and killed by a car on a rainy night while crossing Victory Boulevard, between Mason Avenue and Winnetka Avenue, next to Los Angeles Pierce College.

He had assisted a student who was locked out of his car and was returning to the main campus when he was struck.

Officer Burch had served with the Los Angeles Community College District Police Department for 16 years after having retired from the Los Angeles Police Department. He was survived by his wife, son, and four daughters.
