Patrolman Seth Noyes succumbed to injuries sustained three years earlier while making an arrest.

He suffered a broken spine during the arrest and was totally disabled. He remained at the Insane Hospital from the time of his injury until passing away on October 18th, 1870.

Patrolman Noyes had served with the Boston Police Department for 10 years and was assigned to Station Two. He was survived by his wife.

Patrolman Noyes, your fate would not be replicated today, and thank God. Enlightenment has come. But Brother, your journey and the end of that journey are part of what changed things. It is because of what you did as a Police Officer and what you endured as a patient, things got better for the generations that followed. You were a hero on a number of levels and sadly were unaware of it at the time.
