Officer Brockman was shot and killed while investigating a man with a man with a gun call. Officer Brockman's partner shot and killed the suspect.

Officer Brockman had served with the agency for 19 years. He was survived by his wife and three children.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
