Patrolman Breisinger died after being overcome by carbon monoxide fumes while trying to rescue two boys from a sinkhole at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery. Patrolman Breisinger was the first officer on the scene and discovered the bodies of the two boys inside of the hole. When he entered the hole he was also overcome by the carbon monoxide and died.

Patrolman Breisinger had been with the agency for 14 months.
