Deputy Sheriff Clinton Frazier was killed in a single car crash on Highway 178, just inside the Myrtle city limits, at approximately 9:00 pm.

He was attempting to stop a vehicle when his patrol car left the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned. The driver of the vehicle he was attempting to stop fled the scene following the crash. She was arrested several days later and charged with culpable negligent manslaughter and leaving the scene of a traffic fatality.

Deputy Frazier had served with the Union County Sheriff's Office for two years. He is survived by his wife and three children.

There are many things we encounter through the course of our lives that are forever etched in our memory. Unfortunately, two years ago was one of those moments. This world lost, and heaven gained, one oustanding husband, father, friend, and lawman. My mind revisits that moment everyday. Clint Frazier left a legacy that we can only hope to achieve for ourselves. He was a mans man. He was a strong man. But most importantly he was a Godly man. I know this because of several conversations we had. He was also a teddy bear of a man when it came to his girls. I take comfort in knowing that I will see my partner again one day.

Christy, I love you and the girls and I will always be here for you.

Clint, my brother, I love you and miss you everyday. Until we meet again.....
