What an amazing man you must have been, to take on the job of Sheriff at your age. How tragic that you were taken from this life in such a brutal way. We can only hope that your murderer faced true justice, if not in this world, then in the next.

On this 211th anniversary of your murder and as the first so far known Law Enforcement Officer to make that ultimate sacrifice on this particular date, I honor your memory.
