Deputy Brackman and Deputy J.C. Crain were shot and killed in an ambush while attempting to arrest bootleggers. The ambush occurred at the intersection of two rural county roads in southern Miller County. The two suspects were later apprehended.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
