I sadly waited for May 21st to come & go...the day that changed our world. I know my pain, so I can only imagine the pain of your parents, siblings & children. Oh, how we loved you so & you loved life-always the life of any event. Even when you arrived for your grandfather's funeral, I could hear everyone saying "Shaft is here", with excitement in their voices, while we were at the church. I hate this date, I know I shouldn't but I do & this year it was falling on a Saturday (the same day time stood still & became a fog). How could this be, how will we make it? Sigh :*-I couldn't get on here, I wouldn't dare call anyone nor look at any social media. Just want to say I love you, I miss you & I still don't understand but I KNOW & trust God has a plan. As other officers make the ultimate sacrifice, I can't help but to think of you & know that you loved what you did. The name your Grandmother said she gave you, Shaft, was so appropriate for you. You truly live up to it! :) I smile when I think of your life & that's what I'd prefer to dwell on but when this time rolls around, I can't help but... Continue to make those around you laugh as you watch over us all. (PS I know I'm your favorite) Smooches, Nephew-till we meet again.
