Today I trade my badge, my duty belt and my patrol car for riding gloves, a bicycle helmet and bicycle.

Today I will depart on a ride like no other. With my fellow Brother & Sister Officers, we will ride together for those who made the Ultimate Sacrifice, while in the Line of Duty.

My first ride is in honor of Sgt. Richard M. Betters of the Portland, Maine Police Department. I ride for you Sir, who has made the Ultimate Sacrifice. I ride for all those who will not return home.
