George H. Jenerette

Deputy George Jenerette was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a man wanted for murder. The suspect had murdered the foreman of a lumber company earlier in the morning.

When Deputy Jenerette located him they exchanged shots and Deputy Jenerette was killed. The suspect was shot twice and seriously wounded before being taken into custody.

Deputy Jenerette was survived by his wife.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 90th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
