Howard A. Booth

Officer Booth was electrocuted as he assisted in efforts to remove a young man from a vehicle upon which a live wire had fallen during a storm. Officer Booth came into contact with the 4,300-volt wire and was killed at the scene at Holcomb and Gratiot Avenue.

Officer Booth had served with the Detroit Police Department for 11 years. He was survived by his wife.
