Constable Henry Kolbe was shot and killed while escorting a forgery suspect to jail.

While the two walked to jail, the man pulled out a handgun and shot Constable Kolbe in the chest, killing him. The man was convicted of murder and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
