I had recently met Jim and had spoken with him a couple hours prior to the incident. I was formerly a Texas officer at that time visiting back home in Michigan. I was walking back over to see Jim again and chat with him and was about 30 feet away when the car struck him. I won't go into details but I was there on scene and worked alongside a nurse who also stepped up. Details are not important here, but its always the toughest when its a brother.
